This is with reference to the 4000 Aerocity plots offered to general public @ Rs 12000/- per square yards. This scheme, which was launched by the Punjab Govt should have been a process of rehabilitation for needy citizens.But please permit me to say that it has become a speculative business for the realtors. Now it’s an open secret that realtors are quoting about Rs 25000 to 30000 per square yards for these plots. Out of the 12000 rupees rate the GMADA has to do development and also compensate the farmers. But realtors will be pocketing huge profit due to the faulty system of the Govt. The real end users will be the suffrers.
Recently, DDA too offered flats to the general public. It asked photo copy of PAN from each and every applicant, thus oblivating the chances of multiple applications by the realtors and black money holders. On the other hand, there is a recent case of applications by riot victims. Red cards of some poor riot and terrorist victims are being utilized by property dealers and realtors. If one sorts these applications on names or mobile numbers one could find some riot victims applying in all the categories, having 4 to 5 applications. How can a person who doesn’t even pays income tax return can apply for a 300,400 or 500 yards plot. It’s difficult even to apply for 200 or 250 yards plot. This certainly is not rehabilitation but speculation and pure gamble.
The whole nation is shouting against the black money.
Lets make PAN card a compulsory document for previous allotees and the new applicants under riot victims and terrorist victim category.
Why should GMADA or Punjab Govt encourage speculative business in Govt launched schmemes? In this election year the Govt should be fair and judicious. It should take care of the larger section of society who really wants to have a plot and not those property dealers and realtors who want to profit from the governments lax schemes. Hope that the GMADA and other housing authorities will not be partners in money laundering and speculative trading.
