In case all the Drive letters have Disappared from My Computer or Computer Window and it only shows the Icons and not the Drive letters (C:, D:, E:)for Hard drive , CD Drive etc, just follow the steps below.
The issue is with changed My Computer or Computer (vista) view settings. The settings need to be set to default to resolve this issue.
Click on Start and open the MY Computer window.
Click on the Organize option and go to Folder and Search options.
On the window that opens up Click on the View Tab.
Under that Tab, click on Restore Defaults.
Also click on the Other tabs and if you see any Restore Defaults options click on that.
Click on Apply and Okay on main Folder and Search options window.
Open My Computer again and all the Icons will have Drive letters besides them.
